Jitendra Misra |
Managing Director
Capt. Jitendra Misra has devoted 39 years of his life to the
Maritime industry. With a career that started as a Deck Cadet with
India Steamship in 1971, he steadily ascended the ranks to become,
at 25 years old, one of the youngest Master in the Indian shipping
fleet. After eight years in command he stepped ashore in 1988 to
take up commercial challenges with a firm in UK.
He came to Dubai in February 1990 to set up the ship-owning division
for a large business conglomerate. This was the beginning of Emarat
Maritime and Capt. Misra has been the Managing Director of the
Company since 1997.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (London)
and the founding Chairman of the UAE Branch, a Fellow of the
Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (London) and a Member
of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (London) and a founding
member and Secretary General of the UAE ship owners association.
His contributions to the Shipping Industry have been recognized by a
number of organizations. In 2007, ClassNK set up their Middle East
technical committee with Capt. Misra as the Chairman. In 2009, he
was also elected Director of BIMCO.
He has been bestowed with various accolades over the years, the most
recent being the Life Time Achievement Award, from International
Bulk Journal.

Salah Sharaf |
Assistant Managing Director
Mr. Salah Sharaf achieved his Master degree in Business
Administration from Boston University and joined the Sharaf Group in
1998, after his graduation. He has the qualities of an entrepreneur
with excellent management skills and sharp business acumen.
Armed with abundant knowledge in both shipping and maintenance
fields, with a very good exposure to different types of fleet &
their operations, he actively participates in organizational
strategy planning and day to day operations. He is currently serving
as a member of the Board of Directors for the UAE Ship Owners
Association.
He is a vivid sports enthusiast with a keen interest in Golf and
foot ball. |

Sanjeev Kharkar |
General Manager - Finance
Mr. Sanjeev Kharkar is a Chartered Accountant by profession with
over 30 years of post qualification experience, 18 of which have
been in the Shipping industry, where he has worked with various
organizations in India and overseas.
He has been involved in setting up joint a venture arrangement in
India with one of the large Japanese shipping line connected with
ship agency, port development and marine transportation
infrastructure.
He has been with the group since 1995. |

Benny Alex |
General Manager - New Buildings
Mr. Benny Alex is a Naval Architect by profession, and has work
experience of about 10 years with a prominent New Building
shipyard in India after which he served a stint of 5 years with
Bureau Veritas (France) as a Chief Surveyor in Sri Lanka.
He has been heading the New Buildings division of Emarat Maritime
since 1997. |

M.S. Sangwan |
General Manager - Technical
Mr. Sangwan started his sea career in 1973 and has sailed with
reputed companies like Anglo-Eastern and Mitsui OSK shipping lines,
as a marine engineer, ascending to the capacity of Chief Engineer.
During this tenure he has been part of a team for pre-purchase
inspections, supervision of new buildings in prominent shipyards and
takeovers. He has vast experience in repairs & dry dockings of
vessels of different types. He was also involved in technical
inspections, internal & external audits of fleet vessels and
implementation of safety and quality system.
He joined Emarat
Maritime in 2002 & currently heads the Technical department. |

Suma Easo | Head
- Commercial Dry
Ms. Suma Easo has over 13 years experience in the Shipping Industry.
During her tenure in Shipping, she has expanded her knowledge and
experience in varied facets of Shipping, such as Chartering,
Operations, S & P, Agency, etc.
She has a graduate degree in English Literature & History & a
post-graduate degree in History, and also holds a post graduate
diploma in Public Relations Management from Mumbai University.
She started her career in the shipping industry in 1998 as a
Chartering Executive with a leading ship broking and ship management
company in Dubai and has been part of the Emarat Maritime dry bulk
team since 2004. She is also a Member of Institute of Chartered
Shipbrokers, London.
Suma currently heads the Dry-Commercial department at Emarat
Maritime. |

Pradeep Kumar
Sawhney | Head - Commercial (Tankers)
Capt. Pradeep Sawhney started his sea career in 1980. After sailing
for 20 years as a nautical officer in different ascending capacities
up to the rank of Master on various sizes of crude and product
tankers he started a career ashore when he joined EML in February
2001.
He holds an MBA degree in Finance and is a Fellow at the Institute
of Chartered Shipbrokers (London).
He presently heads the Commercial department of the tanker fleet
comprising of Aframaxes. |

Sergey
Rakhmatullin | General Manager - QSHE
Capt. Sergey Rakhmatullin commenced his sailing career in 1970 & has
sailed as a nautical officer on Dry cargo vessels, Container
carriers & Ro-Ro ships, in various ranks ascending to the capacity
of Master.
He is Member of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport
and The Nautical Institute.
He joined EML in 1997 & presently heads the QSHE department. |

Rajesh K Dabral |
Head - Fleet Operations (Dry Bulk)
Capt. Rajesh Dabral started his sea career as a nautical officer in
1982. He is an experienced Master Mariner with a sailing experience
on various types of ships. He stepped shore in 1996, as an ISM
implementer on board ships. He has versatile experience in Fleet
operations, port captaincy, PNI correspondence & Ship Agency.
He joined EML in 2007 and currently heads the Fleet operations for
Dry Bulk fleet. |

Manish Thapar |
Manager - Tanker Operations
Capt. Manish Thapar has been in the Shipping industry since 1990,
when he joined India Steam Ship as a Deck Cadet. His sea-service on
various types of vessels has spanned over 17 years, the final 8 of
which were on Chemical Tankers, ascending to the rank of Master
Mariner.
He took up a shore appointment in 2006, with V-Ships Asia, where he
was responsible for Training & Pre-vetting Inspections on fleet
vessels. In 2007 he joined the Commercial operations department in
MISC - Malaysia, where he last served as Manager - Commercial
Operations.
Having joined Emarat Maritime in 2010, he is currently in-charge of
the Tanker Operations Department. |

Sankara
Subramanian | Manager - Insurance & Claims
Mr. Sankara Subramanian is a graduate in Economics & also holds a
Diploma in Insurance Law. He is also a Member of the Institute of
Chartered Shipbrokers and The Chartered Institute of Logistics &
Transport
He has over 27 years of experience in the Marine Insurance /
Shipping Industry where he started his career as a Marine Cargo
Surveyor, before moving into a major International Insurance
Company.
He joined EML in 1997 & currently heads the Insurance & Claims
department. |

Baskar
Shanmuganantham | Manager - IT & C
Mr. Baskar Shanmuganantham is a graduate in Mathematics and holds a
Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications.
He started his career in 1993 as a Systems Analyst and held various
positions in Information Technology divisions of diversified
business entities. He has gained extensive knowledge in various IT
and Communications business solutions over a period of 18 years.
He joined EML in 1999 and has been in the shipping industry since.
He is currently heading the IT and Communications department. |
